Frequently Asked Questions

Appraisal FAQ

How Does the Appraisal Process Work?
A vehicle appraisal consists of two key components: the assessment of the vehicle itself and the detailed work of compiling a report to determine its value. While the physical assessment is an important step, the majority of the process lies in the appraiser’s analysis, research, and preparation of the final valuation report.

Our web-based form guides you through the same steps an appraiser would take during an in-person assessment, including uploading all required photos. The form is simple to complete on a mobile device but can also be filled out on a desktop. Once submitted, you can finalize payment, and our team will begin working on your appraisal.

Provided all necessary information has been received, you will receive your completed appraisal report by email within three business days.

Is an Online Appraisal Better Than In-Person?
At a minimum, the final appraisal document you receive is equivalent in function to one conducted in person—the difference is that the online process is faster, more cost-effective, and far more convenient for you and allows us to provide higher quality reports than can be found anywhere else. In addition, our process offers unique advantages:

1. Owner Expertise—For specialty vehicles in particular, no one knows the details better than the owner. By guiding the submission yourself, you can ensure that every important detail is included in the report and understood by the appraiser.

2. Deeper Vehicle Understanding—Many clients have found that walking through the structured assessment helped them gain new insights into their vehicle by prompting them to examine areas they might not have considered before.
What if I make a mistake?
Don’t worry, this is designed to be used by anyone - you don’t need to be an expert. We manually review all submissions and will edit as we see fit. Remember, we are still real appraisers reviewing your vehicle and if we have questions or need clarification we will contact you. Our objective is to provide a high quality product and great service.
Are There Any Vehicles You Don’t Appraise?
In very rare cases, we may be unable to complete an appraisal. Should that occur, you will receive a full refund. Our expertise covers a wide range of vehicles, including classic cars, hot rods, tuners, lowriders, off-road vehicles, and more.
Will Insurance Accept This?
We have never experienced a situation where our appraisals were rejected by an insurance provider.
What About Daily Drivers?
Yes—daily drivers can also be appraised. While our expertise is in unique and specialty vehicles, it is equally important to maintain an up-to-date appraisal for your everyday vehicle. The same principles apply: accurate documentation helps ensure proper coverage and reflects current market conditions so that you can avoid disputes with insurance providers in the event of a total loss.
How Often Should a Vehicle Be Appraised?
While requirements can vary depending on your insurance provider, it is generally recommended to update your appraisal at least every three years. This ensures the valuation remains accurate and reflects current market conditions.
What Determines Vehicle Value?
The value of a vehicle is influenced by a wide range of factors, but ultimately it is determined by market conditions as seen in comparable examples. Professional appraisals are particularly important for specialty or custom vehicles where there is no direct apples to apples comparison the way you can find with more common or stock vehicles. We combine data with an understanding of what goes into all levels of builds and the current state of the market.
Are Appraisals Made Public?
No. We will display your vehicle as having been recently appraised, but the valuation and details of the appraisal remain private to you and whoever you choose to share your document with.
